Giveaway has ended!

Hi everyone! So, today is Christmas Eve. No matter what holiday you celebrate, in the spirit of giving, I wanted to do something special to thank you all for reading. So, I made you a cookbook. I’ve been a busy bee working on designing an e-book of my 20 favorite recipes from 2011. These are recipes that you guys expressed the most love for in the comments, on Twitter, Tumblr, and across the web via links and recreations.
![]()
The best part is that this is completely free to view and download. This is all content that you can access on my site, but I’ve made this e-book for you guys so that you can download it, keep it on your computer or tablet, or even print it out to keep with your cookbook collection. You can access your favorite recipes easily and quickly, without having to search the site, trying to find a link, or even without an internet connection. Plus, it’s prettier than a blog, right?
.
You can get a preview of the book in the viewer below. You can download, save and/or print the book using the button below.
You can also download the PDF set up to read as an onscreen book (as you see it in the viewer below) if you don’t intend to print it.
.
I was actually thinking about doing this for a while, but was inspired to finally do it by my sister, who said that she would like a booklet of all my recipes for Christmas. She’s getting a printed version…and so will two of you! As an added bonus, you’ll also get an Amazon gift card to possibly put towards a real cookbook on your wishlist. ![]()
.
The Giveaway
Want to win a printed version of this book? It’s spiral-bound for your kitchen convenience (don’t you hate it when cookbooks don’t lie flat?) and custom printed in full color just for you. Two winners will each win one copy of the Best of amyBITES 2011 cookbook, plus a $25 Amazon.com gift card. I don’t normally do giveaways, but this one is sponsored by me and only me, just because I like you guys.
.
How to Enter
.
Simply post a comment on this entry and tell me your favorite recipe you tried in 2011. It doesn’t have to be from this site; no extra entries for brown-nosing!
You can get one additional entry by tweeting the link to this post (make sure to mention @amybites to be counted).
.
The Rules
.
U.S. residents only. Maximum of 2 entries per person (1 comment, 1 tweet). Entry period is open from Saturday, December 24th, 2011 until Sunday, January 1st, 2012. I can’t be entered into your contest because I’m not American (always the way!) but I just had to leave a comment and say how amazing the cook book looks! So many delicious recipes!

Even if I don’t even up getting the cookbook, I’m definitely downloading the ebook version. Especially since the snitch butterbeer cake pops are there and I’ve haven’t made those yet. Yum.
Hmmm…my favorite recipe of 2011. I’m going to have to say the Giant Rainbow cookies from How Sweet It Is. But that might be my favorite only because you get to rip apart the dough a bunch. And it was really fun

The cookbook looks amazing! The photographs are so bright and vivid! I also love the fact that all the recipes (with one exception) are all on a single page.
I’ve been trying out a lot of new recipes this year, but the family favorite was hands down the Pioneer Woman’s Sour Cream Noodle Bake. Even my sister who hates onions loved it!

I started cooking more passionately this year and I gotta say, I’m very proud of my chicken curry!

I want the cookbook so bad! Favorite thing I made… Burnt Butter Raviolis (as my Mom calls them, her recipe). Delicious.

I definitely loved the summer corn chowder. I made it so often because it’s a quick and simple recipe to use for my work lunches. I could pack it for the whole week and not get tired of it.

My favorite recipe I tried this year was cheesecake. I was always too daunted by it, but it was so easy and delicious!

My favorite recipe is a applesauce raisin bread that I was tired of begging my Mom to make. Fresh out of the oven with butter and strawberry jam…….
Want to try that summer corn chowder though.

I have many favorites, unfortunately! D=
A short list of successes in my kitchen to contribute to you are: your chili, your sweet potato lentil soup, chocolate-chip pretzel cookies, your chicken meatloaf burger, and your bacon-alfredo.
You know all of these work though! Outside of your kitchen, other highlights have included a 15-minute Beef stroganoff, a wonderful chicken-pasta bake, even gingerbread-lemon cream cookies to die for.
This years has been magical for my taste buds.
The one recipe I’ll really take away though, the one that is so flexible, easy, and insanely delicious that I’ve made it for everybody I know, is:
A simple red enchilada sauce!
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/the-best-red-enchilada-sauce/detail.aspx
That’s…pretty much it! I had never made Enchilada sauce before, and this was the first recipe I tried. It was the most authentic tasting Mexican food I’ve ever made. PLUS, it’s super easy to make this into a vegetarian (vegan?) sauce by using veggie broth instead (which I found actually tasted better in some respects!)
I am going to use your website (and book!) as a part of my new years resolutions: to eat just a bit more wholesome, and cook more variety!
Keep doing what you do! It is always a joy to find an update here.

My favorite recipe this year has been Cayenne Rubbed Chicken. Healthy and so tasty!
Ginger says: December 26, 2011 at 4:48 pm //
My favorite has to be Slow cooked Saussage and peppers. Such a quick and easy meal for my family that I can run and get all our errands done and come back home to a dinner that is just fantastic. However I will admit I’ve used your cooking guidance over the past year or so now and my family loves your cooking. So I’ll absolutley have to get the book.

Baked potato soup! So cozy on a cold night and pretty easy to throw together. I also enjoyed your pumpkin snicker doodles, although I did skip the pecans.

There has been a legion of amazing, to-die for recipes, and a bunch of kitchen flops. Bountiful fresh fruits in summer recipes, and warm spices in fall goods, there are so many to choose from! BUT my absolute favorite of this year are swan cream puffs! Yum

I’ve never been into cooking before 2011, but a move in with my boyfriend and some lovely cooking blogs — this one being prime on my list — caused a change in me. Cooking is a labor of love now. My favorite recipe of the year is probably this one for panang curry: http://www.twoinakitchen.com/panang-curry-recipe. Amy, I would LOVE to see your take on this wonderful Thai dish! I loved the bacon mac from this site and all of this could be changed this week when we try lasagna soup. It may just top everything else we’ve tried. We can’t wait!

I made a lime cookie that was a surprise show-stealer this year. It’s a humble sugar cookie but every one just loved them. The original recipe called for lemon, but we used lime. I’ll definitely be trying the lemon soon!

I’m new to your blog, so while I look forward to trying and delighting in your recipes, I think my winner of the year would have to be this banana bread: http://www.butterandsugar.org/blog/?p=179
With dates thrown in for extra texture.
It supplanted our family recipe. It was that tasty

This e-book is awesome!
I think my favorite thing I made this year was some pumpkin cookies with brown butter icing. I LOVED them, and when I gave one to a friend to try, she ate it, and without saying a word, came over and hugged me!

I found an amazing recipe for vegetable lasagna that makes a great sauce filled with great summer vegetables. It’s great in lasagna like it was meant to be of in top of pasta. It’s the best recipe I’ve had all year.
As for a recipe from AmyBites, without a doubt, the butterbeer cupcakes. I make them at least once a month and my friends absolutely love them.

The best new recipe I discovered this year was Chocolate Coca-Cola cake. I made it for a friend’s 21st birthday cake since he adores Coca-Cola. If I make it again I won’t make it into a cake because it’s soooo moist and delicious that flipping it out of the cake pain almost gave me a panic attack! This is a cupcake recipe for sure

Hands down the lasagna soup, everyone in the family loved it
Jaimie Pomares says: December 31, 2011 at 5:39 pm //
My first and favorite recipe by you were the butterbeer cupcakes! I was amazed at just how great they came out, since I’m not much of a baker. I even forgot to put in the brown sugar in the first round and they still came out delicious!

Absolute favorite was the sweet potato and lentil chili – made it several times over the last several months and it was always a hit.
Kellan says: January 1, 2012 at 10:33 am //
Baked mac and cheese! Using squash to thicken not only made it thick (the healthy way!) but also added to the great taste!
Claire says: January 1, 2012 at 11:25 pm //
Turkey meatloaf

My favourite was Willow Bird Baking’s Coffee Cookie Dough Cheesecake
